It was during the annual physical exam period in the hospital where I worked.
All employees had to undergo CBC, U/A and S/E.
Three employees obviously “shared” specimen as the 3 stool samples were submitted at the same time, with the exact same color and consistency.
Who’s fooling the medical technologist?
My coworker still read the samples and found all 3 were positive for Giardia lamblia cysts! He had us check and verify and it was true.
Instead of asking for a repeat collection as the source was obviously just 1 person, the tech released all 3 results.
Who knows if they were prescribed medication. They better be honest and submit their own stool next time!
