I started out a phlebotomist before I got my MT degree. I love phlebotomy and direct patient care. And of course, I can’t forget some of my patient encounters back then.
I was doing my fair share of morning draws. Nothing unusual happened during my shift ,until I came to this patient room where I noticed strange sounds coming from it.
The lights were out, and I have no idea where those sounds are coming from. So I went in, turned the lights on, and found the patient literally having sex with his pillow!! He was too busy humping his pillow that he never even noticed me turn the lights on. I immediately excused myself and went to the nurse station.
Oh did I get a good laugh from his nurse. What happened was the patient had a frontal lobe brain injury that made him unable to control his heightened sexual urges. Wow that was something I could never ever unsee for the rest of my life!
