During my internship, I once asked a nurse for help drawing blood from a toddler in a crib. She reassured me that I didn’t need any assistance, so I awkwardly made my way back to him, half expecting chaos.
But he was incredibly calm—an absolute professional about the whole thing.
Everything went smoothly until I finished and started putting on the Band-Aid. That’s when he looked at me and, in very serious “baby language,” made it clear: now it was his turn to stick me.
I told him he’d have to wait until he had a little more education first.
