All is well in the laboratory until I realized a patient needed to collect a urine sample and it was missed. Nothing like a simple phone call can’t fix.
This happened when I just started working in the US and I admit I had a bit of an accent back then. When I called the patient and started to explain who I am and what I needed, *CLICK*.
I tried again. I said “I’m from the hospital and I needed a urine sample from you.” Before I can finish, *CLICK*
“Argh!! One more time, different tactic.” as I screamed from within.
This time I started with “I am not a telemarketer, please don’t hang up” *CLICK*
Not my day to make phone calls. I have to call it quits and ask my coworker to call the patient for me. Talk about a frustratingly embarrassing day. Grrrr. ???
