I went to draw blood on a combative female patient. Although the patient was restrained, I still needed some help holding the patient while I draw the blood. Three (3) cops and 2 nurses helped me—that’s how combative the patient was. I kid you not, while I was drawing the patient, the patient asked me: “Do you wanna f#%k me? Do you wanna take the cobwebs out of my vagina?”
OMG!! The room got quiet. I could sense that everybody was staring at me and was trying not to laugh. Being mortified is an understatement. I then respectfully replied to the patient: “Thanks, but NO thanks!” And…when I came out of the room, the cops and other staff were smiling at me. One of them said: “You’re a lucky guy! Not everyone gets an offer like that!”
Let’s just say, it was one of the funniest, embarrassing, and unforgettable moments of my life as a Lab Tech.
