A middle-aged guy came in for blood work one day. He’s the chatty type with some pretty good stories to tell. He shared with me an experience the last time he had his flu shot.
It was a busy day at the clinic with a bunch of kids waiting in line to get their flu shot. His name was called first and so he followed the nurse into the procedure room. As soon as the nurse stuck the needle in his arm, he screamed at the top of his lungs, as if he was in a lot of pain.
When he walked out, all the kids were crying their eyes out! The nurse was quite upset with him at the time. I imagine it took a lot of convincing for each kid to sit still and get their flu shot. 😀
If he would have done that while he’s being drawn in the lab, I would probably lose it.
