I’ve worked in the lab long enough to witness human creativity trying to use regular household items as a specimen container for their stool samples. All we ask is for the container to be washed clean and dried properly before using.
Once we had an elderly grandma dropped off her stool specimen in a salt shaker!
We gave her proper containers to bring home to recollect. She then asked us to clean the shaker before she leaves.
But we told her that we can’t do that…🤷♂️
