It was around 2am in the morning when we received an order from the ER for a blood draw. Patient was a nice older lady with pink highlights on her hair, so I assumed.
I honestly thought it was a good look on her so I started my small talk by giving her a little compliment about her cool pink highlights. She smiled, but never said a word.
Later on I realized that she was admitted into the ER because she fell and hit her head. The “pink highlights” is actually dried up blood on her bleach blond hair.
Oh my goodness was I embarrassed about it.
