When I was at the blood bank, we had to do a stint in the donor clinics.
One day a very “manly” gent came up to front desk and was visibly distraught as he couldn’t get past the initial hemoglobin screening to donate. He was anemic.
He lamented, “I just don’t understand this, how can my iron be low, I work with iron every day!”
