Mother and daughter came in to the lab from some lab work. Not knowing what they needed at the time, I greeted them promptly and told them to have a seat. As they handed me their lab order on paper, I was surprised to find that both the mom and the daughter needed to do urine chlamydia & gonorrhea testing at the same time.
The mom went first while the daughter waited. When the mom finished, the daughter took her turn and went into the bathroom to provide her urine sample. Mom whispered in my ear, “Can you also do a pregnancy test on her urine?”
“I’m sorry ma’am, I can’t do it without a doctor’s order.” I replied.
Hmmm…mom and daughter getting tested for STDs at the same time ,while mom worried about her daughter getting pregnant. Wonder what family matters they have going on? 😛
