Went to the ER to draw blood on a 60-year old female patient. FYI, I’m in my mid-30s.
When I got to the bedside, the patient smiled at me and said “oh, a man! I always liked to be man-handled! I just smiled.
While I was drawing her right arm, her left arm grabbed my biceps and said, “this is very nice!”. I was just smiling and didn’t know exactly what to do. I just told the patient “Thanks?!”.
When I got done, the patient said “already done?! That was fast! I like men with fast hands!!” OMG, I burst out laughing! To be honest, I was a bit embarrassed too.
I thought that was the end of it. Few days later, the patient came back as an outpatient. Didn’t know she came back until my colleague mentioned it. My colleague told me that there was a woman asking for me. The woman actually asked my colleague this question: “If I unbutton my shirt more, do you think Richard will notice?” OMG! I knew exactly who the patient was when I heard the phrase!
