I had an older patient who had an order for a stool culture.
When she came in, I asked her if she wants to collect the poop here in our lab restroom or at home. She whispered to me and said “I had an accident on my underwear, do you think I can use that poop?”.
I was speechless and in shock—my mind just didn’t know what to think or what to say!
After a few seconds, the patient laughed, and told me she was kidding. Omg! I laughed so hard, and was thankful she was just kidding!
I can’t believe a patient just pranked me!
