We had two identical chemistry analyzers both interfaced to Meditech. There is a regulatory requirement to be able to show that a result was performed in a batch of tests per analyzer that had passed QC. We named our analyzers and named our Meditech interfaces the same. Through suggestions and vote we named our analyzers and their interfaces “LUCY” and “ETHEL”. We even put signage on the analyzers and referred to them by their name. It worked.
Grrr (as in the little robot from Invader Zim) for my KF Duo mostly just because of the sounds it makes, and R2 for my QS7

The most toxic labs I’ve worked in had no names for their analyzers, and no interest in naming new analyzers. Interesting correlation.
