COVID19 Vaccination Facts Backed by Science

Having an informed choice backed by science will help us strengthen our argument rather than just mouthing off what we read on media and other news sources.  Here are some facts we should consider:

a. Viral Transmission

Vaccines are designed to protect one person, the vaccinated. Antibodies in your bloodstream can only protect you from being infected, not any other person.  Vaccinated individuals can harbor the virus in their nasopharynx, skin, mouth, etc and can transmit it to vulnerable individuals the same way as the unvaccinated.  Viruses don't just disappear when it comes into contact with vaccinated individuals (vector carriers).  Hence statements like vaccinations protect our family, friends and patients are not based on science.

b. Protection from Covid19

Vaccines are used to artificially and safely expose your body to a certain antigen so you can safely build immunity from it by creating antibodies.  These circulating antibodies will neutralize the covid19 virus once detected and can prevent you from being sick or have severe symptoms, theoretically.  However, even though the COVID19 vaccine is highly publicized to be effective, recent CDC posts suggest that vaccinated individuals are now getting Covid. (https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7031e2.htm?s_cid=mm7031e2_w)

Right now the main incentive for the Covid19 vaccine according to CDC is to have less severe infections with Covid19 and lesser chance of being hospitalized for the vaccinated.  You are not immune to it.  Ever had the flu shot and got the flu?

c. Antibody Dependent Enhancement

Simply put, Antibody Dependent Enhancement (ADE) is the reason why no vaccine has been developed for certain viruses like the common cold, RSV or even SARS COV 1.  Antibodies made from these vaccines causes greater pathology (worse symptoms) during subsequent infections.  According to NIH and I quote,"It is reasonable to hypothesize a similar ADE risk for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and vaccines."

d. mRNA Vaccine Technology

FDA has only granted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) authorization for the COVID19 vaccines.  It works by injecting the body with a fragment (mRNA) which allows your body to synthesize the antigenic component needed to illicit the immune response.  No mRNA vaccine has been approved to date.  It is backed by decades of research but one can always argue that research outcomes were not favorable otherwise it would have been implemented years ago.  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines/mrna.html#:~:text=mRNA%20vaccines%20have%20been%20studied,into%20an%20mRNA%20vaccine.

There is no scientific reason to mandate the vaccine for healthcare workers.  It protects no one else but the vaccinated.  It  serves no incentive towards our patients.  If patient care is priority, universal masking during the pandemic makes sense.  It's how Reverse Isolation works to protect our immunocompromised patients.

According to the experts, Vaccinated individuals have lesser or milder symptoms compared to the unvaccinated.  Who do you think would show up to work infected with Covid19 because they think it's just allergies or a mild cold?  Who do you think are the "silent carriers" and unknowingly become a danger to the safety of our patients?

These arguments are mentioned so we have a stand in the decision we make for ourselves.   Fake news are all over regardless of which side you take.  The CDC constantly changing their narrative and making claims not based on science doesn't help.

In America, we stand for freedom.  It is one of the strengths we have as a nation.  Once taken away, we are nothing more than a shadow of a once great Republic tainted with the filth of Communism.
