Biological Fume Hood

For those running COVID19 PCR on the Cepheid, does your lab use a negative pressure biological fume hood when pipetting the sample into the cartridges?

We use a hood for that

Our supervisor called up Cepheid.  They said that it depends on the test done.  For COVID19 testing, a biological fume hood can be used, but it is not required.

We don't do PCR testing of COVID, but we decided to get a Biosafety Cabinet II for our rapid antigen testing. That's what the Biosafety Officer from the our State recommended.

We did get one for our lab for safety. I did call Cepheid to find out if it is a manufacturer requirement. They said no

We don't use a hood in our lab.  I think we should. 😏

We don't to be honest.  It's not required...simple reason
